The Client

A local Weston-super-Mare business man wanted to create a new and exciting news and events website for the town. He felt a younger and more vibrant approach was needed as this may appeal to a broader range of the towns residents.

The Brief

To create branding for WsM News. As well as a logo and website this included 'design maintenance' for the website, ensuring all banners and artwork was refreshed on a weekly basis.

The Result

A local news website is all about community.


With this in mind I created the WsM News 'eye' logo. The eye represents the website being a source of information for everything that happens in Weston-super-Mare. A one stop shop for residents to not only find out breaking news but to also be able to see what's on at the local theatre. The 'eye' is made up of objects that the town is known for, from ice cream and donkey rides to local sports and cinemas. This gives the brand and website a very strong identity as it creates connections with the residents, seeing the best parts of their community embedded into the WsM News personality.
