Jumping For Joy Over Your Brand?
Hi, welcome to my second blog post! Today I'm focusing on the importance of brand and it's consistency.
Every business has a brand. Even if you have never put any thought or work into yours, your business has one. Your brand encompasses every part of your business; from your logo, to how presentable your shop is, to your tone of voice online - It's basically your reputation and professionalism.
A brand evokes feelings.. Think of the car manufacturer Mercedes. Whether you own one or know very little about them you will have some form of feeling towards them - most likely: luxury and expensive.
Now think about your brand (ask others for a broader opinion). Does it represent you, your ethos and your product as you intended? If the answer is yes then great, you're smashing it! If the answer is no then maybe a little re-think is needed.
Consistency is key to a strong brand. Here's a short check list to help get your brand back on track:
- Is your logo effective? Do your customers understand how it links to your business?
- Is your 'tone of voice' online the same as in person?
- Are you using social media consistently? Audiences get bored with businesses who post uninteresting and uninformative content irregularly. Come up with a social media plan for the week/month and stick to it.
- Is your website full of useful information, easy to navigate and up-to-date?
These sound fairly basic, right? They are. The key is consistency, not always the easiest thing to do when you're pulled in a million different directions, but don't let that result in loss of custom.
